The Selection Process
The initiatives were selected from 700+ submissions and updates
received from more than 120 countries around the world. An independent
Technical Advisory Committee
(TAC) met in Shenyang, China, from 5 to 8 June 2000 to assess
the submissions’ compliance with the three criteria for a
Best Practice: impact, partnership and sustainability. From the
submissions, the TAC identified 100 Best Practices and prepared
a short list of 40 submissions for consideration by the Best Practices
Jury.
The Jury met in Dubai,
United Arab Emirates, from 3 to 5 July 2000 to select the 10 recipients
of the 2000 Dubai International Award.
